It features the North Boat “St. Ninian” approaching Lerwick harbour, during her weekly round trip from Leith to Aberdeen, to Orkney, then Shetland, and then the same run in reverse. Wednesday was her day in Lerwick. She was built in 1950 and was sold to Canada around 1970.
Jim Tait was born at Baltasound, Unst in 1948. He specialises in the seascapes and landscapes of his native Shetland Islands. He is particularly interested in the way light works on the sea and land to create distance
